Made from a selection of coloured Swarovski crystals, the Mawi Dynasty ring caught my eye from the very second I saw it glistening away in the glass cabinet on the Selfridges Accessories floor.
The amber, aqua, pink and grey crystals work together in an unusual pretty kinda way whilst creating an interesting contrast against the dark, moody coloured hematite metal used to create the base of the ring.
With the distinctive, industrial Mawi feel, the Dynasty ring is taken from the Mawi Retrospective Collection which marks the 10 year anniversary of the brand. Taking iconic designs from the past decade, the designs have been reworked and updated for the collection.
Yet another stunner of a collection leaving the high streets awash awash with copy after copy after copy…

To mark the arrival of what’s going to be an amazing year, my siblings and I spent the afternoon strolling around the leafy suburbs of Hampton Court and the Palace where Henry VIII used to reside with his six wives.
Flicking hanger by hanger through my wardrobe in the morning, I was feeling the chilled and relaxed vibe that new years day brings and opted for a cool and casj. OOTD.
With the wintery sun shining, I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend New years day.

Ombre shows no signs of waning just yet so we have been eye-balling a few ombre inspired pieces in the jewellery market – but nothing had really inspired so far. That changed recently when we came across a couple of exquisite pieces from the LA-based brand Deloris Petunia. These necklaces are absolutely stunning and have been added to our Lust-Have list here at Jak & Jewel. The brand is owned by Candice Prince who is based in LA and you can visit her Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/people/DolorisPetunia to view some of her other designs… one of which I have also included below, and some similar items she designed for fellow blogger, Chiara Ferragni, of The Blonde Salad. H-enjoy.

There is something so serene about wearing white over the festive period. I love wearing white at any time of the year but during winter it feels especially special. The look evokes memories of my childhood where winters were filled with snow (before the globe got warmer) and the weekends occupied with great wintery shows like the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe series’ (I guess the title of this post resonates with this particular memory). I’ve put together this white-inspired compilation in dedication to a love for winter whites. Hope you like it.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned a jewellery designer I stumbled across and last week saw the launch of the brands e-shop.
Although I had only seen a couple of the designs, I knew from the little that I had seen, I wouldn’t be disappointed, and I was right.
Within a few days of launching RyanStorer.com, the collection has already sold through on some lines. Showcasing a selection of silver and rose gold, crystal encrusted earpieces, it’s easy to understand the why the brand has had the reaction it’s had so far.
Speaking to Vogue Australia, Storer talks about his love for the idea of wearing single earrings and how his bold and dramatic designs for one ear are offset by a nakedness in the other.
With the emergence of ear cuffs over the past seasons, I am yet to find a cuff the reflects me and my personal style – until now of course as Storers designs are simple yet fierce enough to leave me lusting after every single piece.

Sunday was all about the long over due catch up with the ladies in our usual central London hangout – St Christopher’s Place. Dining at pan-Asian Restaurant Cocochan on James Street, the day would not have been complete without taking a cruise through the big yellow building, otherwise known as Selfridges. Although they’re not exactly the greatest of cameras, the iPhones were poised and ready nonetheless…
Note to self:
Must. Take. SLR. Out.

Gosh, I need to satisfy my craving already because I am becoming obsessed with blue jewels. I found a couple of prerry pieces on the pretaportobello website which are inching their way closer to my already obscene list of items I want to pick up this December.
With the succession of designers featuring the shade heavily in their runway shows for SS13, it came as no surprise when Pantone announced Emerald as the colour of the year for 2013.
Acne, Kenzo and Sportmax all oozed cool, calm sophistication in various lush shades of green for their forthcoming collections. Indicating the next big colour trend, we are now already beginning to seeing emerald coloured jewellery reports preparing us for what will be a rich and vibrant season ahead.
As a lover of all things grand and luxurious – my obsession for the rich and vibrant shade has already begun. With a little bit of opulence and grandeur dripping from my arms, collar and ears also – it looks set to continue way into next year. Loving the regal-ness the colour exudes, you can call me ‘Your highness’ until then…
Every year when Winter comes, I start looking for places where I can emigrate to. I hate the cold. It depresses me. I am a SAD sufferer (self-diagnosed but it’s real)
So, I heard LA is nice this time of year… actually anytime of year. Memories of perfect LA sunshine, cool people, and a slight Michael Kors obsession just made me nostalgic. And it’s really not good for my SAD.
